Bachelor Studies Biology

Bachelor Studies Biology (Basic)

In the basic studies (sem. 1-4) different practical courses are included (they can be studied in parallel). All of these are entirely taught in German and protocols need to be written. Thus participation is only possible if very good German skills (at least Level B2) can be proven.

Winter term:

  • Biochemistry and Biophysics (once a week; 4 CP)


Summer term:

  • Genetics (once a week; 4 CP)
  • Animal Physiology (once a week; 4 CP)
  • Plant Physiology (once a week; 4 CP)
Advanced practical studies

Two different types of modules are offered in the advanced practical studies (semesters 5-6):

  • Advanced Module (A-Module) and
  • Module of Special Focus (S-Module)


A-Module:
(some with option of English lectures)

  • generally 4 weeks, corresponding to 15 CP
  • daily attendance generally from 8.00 a.m. till 5 p.m.
  • usually consisting of lectures, seminars and lab class
  • oral or written final examination

S-Module:
(often a prior participation of an A-Module in the same field of research is required)

  • 4 weeks or 6 weeks corresponding to 15 CP
  • daily attendance generally from 8.00 a.m. till 5 p.m.
  • usually consisting of seminars and lab work with individual supervision
  • in general written S-Module protocol at the end of the course


S-Module are arranged individually with the teacher.
